Here's a view looking up the street from our driveway. You can tell our town isn't much on snowplows, at least for residential streets. That's OK, though, as long as the snow isn't so deep that we can't drive, and it isn't. It's just so pretty and I hate to see it go, though I know a lot of people have a real hardship in the snow and will be happy to see it all melt away.
We spent most of Christmas day at hubby's folks. They live upriver and here's the view from their front yard. The trees look so pretty all covered in snow. I'm up above the river and the river is down there at the base of that hill. They have a little creek just to the right of where I'm standing.
I would love to have gotten a photo down by the river, but the road was too dicey to want to stop and take photos. We have to cross the river at one point, leaving the highway, and the bridge is just one lane so you have to make sure no one is coming from the other side. Those entering from the highway have the right of way and I wanted to give it my undivided attention. The river looks really pretty flowing through all that white. A couple of weeks ago when it was much colder, the river froze over upstream where the water doesn't move as fast but all the water is moving right along again now, except for a few floating chunks of ice.
So Happy Christmas to all. I survived it as I've survived the last few years: with lowered expectations. Works wonders.
Whenever I say "lowered expectations" I always end up singing in like in the SNL shorts about the dating service. I can't help it.
